6. Saving Water
Water levels have decreased in recent decades due to the change in the precipitation cycle, making it difficult to refill water reserves. In addition the current poor and non optimized water consumption, leads to a critical situation. The amount of precipitation and, above all, the seasonal distribution have dramatically changed. Existes serious droughts because of an unfavorable water regime for the growth of crops on land or trees in forests. The current society must become aware that irresponsible consumption of water could have terrible consequences. Furthermore, the price of water has been rising significantly over the last few decades and citizens are noticing this, so they should start saving water. There are several groups of water users. We know about the use of water for agricultural purposes, by drainage or irrigation. However, there are many other activities like energy, industry, fisheries, transport, storage and so on, where water resources are used. All of these activities need to be transformed in order to reduce CO2 emissions. The main result is climate change and we are continuously suffering its effects. We are supporting serious droughts and floods because of an unfavorable water regime. We can fight against this situation individually and collectively, through responsible household consumption, water recycling in the best possible way and respecting good saving practices as a society.
